When it comes to picking a platform to get your coworking space seen and heard, there are two types that you can use.
1) Low-control platforms
Things like social media are “low-control” platforms.
The benefit is that they give you easier access to audiences than “high-control” platforms.
The challenge is that you don’t have control over what those platforms do with your audience.
For example, social media platforms could change their algorithms at the drop of a hat, meaning one day you might have 100 people see and interact with your content and the next day it could only be a dozen.
2) High-control platforms
Platforms like your website, blog, and email list are what’s known as “high-control” platforms.
The challenge is that it takes a lot more time, effort, strategy, and dedication to build an audience on these channels.
But the benefit is that they’re algorithm-proof, and the audience and contacts are all yours.
Which one should you use?
As a rule of thumb, use high-control platforms as your hub for all of your content. Then, use low-control platforms as a way to share that content and to catch passersby.
